This place has been on my to try list for a very long time ever since it blew up as the best taco in Los Angeles. However personally while I love how the taco comes with a lot of toppings, I thought the meat was a bit dry and it's definitely not the most amazing taco I had but if you're someone who likes a lot of different toppings on your tacos this place is for you. Personally I think I like it simple with sauce, meat, and a tortilla.

What a find! We were trying to find a quick bites place before heading to Jeni's and so glad to have found Villa's tacos! We got the queso tacos (we tried chicken and steak) and both are delicious! We love the cheesy crust inside the blue corn tortilla and the fillings are perfect as well! Both the chicken and steak are marinated well and pair with the avocado salsa we got. Would love to come back and try the trio and agua fresca! There is a self-serve station where you can add pickled onions and different types of salsa (read the label! Some of them are very spicy!). There are some limited seating outside! There is plenty of parking in the plaza!

I was told this was LA's greatest tacos, so we had to definitely put it to the test... let me just say it did not disappoint! Villa's is a cute, small taco shop in Highland Park. The staff are fun and you can tell that their tacos are made with love. We got the chicken, beef, and potato queso tacos + one mulita. We were speechless after our first bite. My favorite was actually the potato taco! Will definitely be back and so lucky to have had the chance to try them out!

I've heard great things about this spot so had to try while we were in the area. It's located in the corner of a Grocery outlet plaza so lots of parking. We got there around 1pm on a Friday and there was a small line but it moved pretty quick. Note that there's no indoor dining but there are 3 tables outside Villas trio tacos (4/5): I got the avo sauce from the salsa bar and tried the hibiscus pickled onions which were great. The blue corn tortilla tacos were really flavorful but I felt that the generous amount of guac and sauce overpowered the taste of the meat. Don't get me wrong I love me some guac and salsa - big sauce person, but I think in this case it was a lot cause I do like tasting the contents of the taco. I did like the fried Queso in the taco but I think next time I'll do lighter guac

This newer location of Villa's Tacos is always popular when I visit, and it's for a good reason: the tacos are great! Their homemade blue corn tortillas are matched with tasty fillings, and you can do a sampler of three tacos if you want to get a sense of the menu. The service is efficient, with a fair amount of outdoor seating (though it can be crowded during peak hours). I most recently had chorizo and asada tacos, and pairing them with the mango habanero salsa was the right kind of spicy kick! This spot is great for a casual and quick meal.

Great taco joint! Love that they use blue-corn tortillas! The tacos were made to perfection and were so satisfying. Fair prices too. I got 1 regular taco with Chicken and 1 Queso Taco with Beef. After finishing both doing my happy dance, I made the conclusion that the chicken is better than the beef and the regular taco is more satisfying than the queso taco. (I hardly could tell there was queso because the onions, beef, cilantro overpowered the queso). I would only get the chicken regular tacos next time. Just my opinion! The cashier is very nice and rung us up right away answering our questions about the menu. Ambiance- They crank up the tunes with loud rap and hip hop oldies music. There's some provocative lyrics that were playing when I went but it didn't bother me as you can only make out the lyrics when you're physically in the taco place. You can enjoy your tacos out at their patio tables. It was clean when I went. I understand they do tacos but I think it would be nice if they offered a small or large size of carne asada fries or chicken meat fries as I think they would pair nicely!

You know when you go to a hole in the wall late at night and everything else is closed and there's a long ass line, your at the right place. Villas tacos was amazing, fully loaded tacos with explosions of flavor with every single one. We got the sampler so like 3 different tacos; they've got all these different sauces you can try and they all taste amazing (mango is spicy) Not much seating but it seemed like the amount they had was perfect with how fast the line moves. We will be back!

Must try this place!! The queso tacos are delicious and super flavorful. I loved the frijoles con nopal and the soyrizo. My friend liked the chicken and asada as well! Don't miss out if you're in the area. Parking is easy in the lot. There are a couple tables for outdoor seating but it works well cause people get up and leave after they eat!

Super popular! Friendly service. Tacos always hit the spot and they have a variety of salsas you can self serve! Limited outdoor seating. Free parking in a shared lot although it gets crowded! Expect a bit of a line/wait.

Food: 5/5 Service: 5/5 Ambiance: 4/5 I'd say these tacos are worth the hype. The two things that really stand out to me about this place are (not the blue tortillas) the smokiness of the meat & the hibiscus pickled onions. I think the blue tortillas thing is a gimmick but regardless the quality and flavor of the meat is delicious. I ordered the asada & pollo tacos and the meat had this deep, smoky flavor from the grill that I don't find often in other taco places. It adds another dimension to the taco and is so delicious. The hibiscus pickled onions really surprised me. They're sweet and sour and added the perfect acidity to each taco. I will say these tacos are pretty pricy though. It averages around $5-6 per taco. Service is great, the owner is very familiar with a lot of his customers and he's actively greeting them and working the restaurant. Nice to see an owner who is in the restaurant with everyone else. Ambiance is okay, there's no indoor seating because the place is tiny. Outdoor seating is pretty limited too. The lines are always long and the location itself is small so it's pretty chaotic between trying to order, trying to find somewhere to sit, grabbing your salsas, and grabbing your drinks. Don't come here if you get easily overstimulated. Overall, solid taco place. Quality of the meat is amazing. Love the smokiness. Try the hibiscus pickled onions. They're the star of the show.
